2-1-3 Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL) 

 

REILs은 많은 비행장에서 빠르고 쉽게 접근경로상에서 활주로 Threshold를 식별할 수 있도록 한다. REILs은 동조된(synchronized) 깜빡이는 한쌍의 등화로 활주로 Threshold에 수평적으로 설치되어 있다. REIL은 전방향성이거나 단방향성(omnifirectional or unidirectional)으로 접근경로에서 식별할 수 있다 REILs이 주는 장점은

 

a. 활주로주변의 등화중에서 가장 식별하기 쉽다.

b. 지형에의해서 활주로가 잘 식별되지 않는 곳에서 유용하다.

c. 시정이 감소한 상황에서 REIL은 활주로 식별이 잘 되도록 한다.

The Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL) system provides rapid and positive identification of the end of the runway. The system consists of two synchronized, unidirectional flashing lights. The lights are positioned on each corner of the runway landing threshold, facing the approach area and aimed at an angle of 10 to 15 degrees.

 

REIL은 approach area 10' ~ 15'에서 활주로가 잘 식별되도록 한다.
